Professional interpreting, translation and post-editing in German, English and French—for seamless communication worldwide.
During simultaneous interpreting, I sit in an interpreting booth. Over headphones, I listen to what is being said on the floor. Even before the speakers have finished a section of their speech, I convey their message into the target language.
In consecutive interpreting, I use my individual note-taking technique to write down the structure of a speech. Sections of the source speech can be up to 8-9 minutes long, but in most cases they are shorter. After the speaker has finished their section, I convey their message into the target language.
There are two options for whispered interpreting: (1) If only 1-2 people need the interpreting, I sit behind them and “whisper” the interpretation simultaneously into their ears. (2) In the case of more listeners, there is the option of using a portable interpretation system.
This refers to the revision of machine-translated texts. There is light post-editing, in which only absolutely necessary changes are incorporated. There is also full post-editing, which results in a text as if it had been translated exclusively by human translators. A text that has been pre-translated and then checked by a machine is not always more favourable or sensible. After your enquiry, we can look at your individual case together.
In recent years, I have mainly translated in the fields of software/IT, marketing and tourism. On the one hand, I have made advertising campaigns accessible to the German-speaking target group. On the other hand, software localisation makes up a large part of my work. Software localisation means the translation of programs, their buttons, including tooltips, functions (...) and accompanying advertising material. Both types of text are highly visible content that is intended to be read or clicked on millions of times. I also translate general language texts from time to time.

My name is Hannes and I have a passion for interpreting and translating! I work with German (mother tongue), English (B-language) and French (C-language). I have the privilege of pursuing this activity in a wide variety of contexts. Whether it be comfortably translating in front of my laptop screen, interpreting in a small setting jotting down notes, or nestled between the walls of an interpreting booth, they are the moments that mean the world to me.
Regardless of the situation, quality is my top priority. I convey messages between my working languages with care, precision and keen intuition.
